CYCLING ADVENTURES FOR INDEPENDENT TRAVELERS

Transportation Advice for Getting to Vermont

Dear Diverse Directions, For the cycling tour we're planning to do in June, we will most likely fly into Boston (perhaps Hartford or Burlington) and would prefer not to rent a car.  We see that we can get some buses from Logan to the Hanover, NH area.  How do folks then get to Windsor, VT (the starting place for the Green Mountain Vistas Tour)? R & S in California

Dear R & S in California, Given its size, flying into Boston's Logan Airport, will likely mean a direct flight and lower fare. Once in Boston, the Dartmouth Coach provides a convenient and reasonably priced shuttle from Logan to nearby Hanover, NH. Diverse Directions can then pick you up in Hanover and shuttle you to Windsor, VT for $25.00 per person roundtrip.

Some customers however, prefer to fly into Burlington or Hartford's Bradley Airport because they're smaller and easier to get in / out of. In each case, Amtrak offers daily service from stations near the airports to not only Windsor but also Brattleboro, Bellows Falls and White River Junction, VT.
